Introduction: Viewst launch on Appsumo

In 2021, we introduced Viewst MVP on AppSumo with a clear vision in mind: to support large design teams in scaling their capacities and automating routine tasks. During the initial AppSumo launch, our platform had limited automation and collaboration capabilities. Our early adopters were mostly tech-savvys, freelancers, and solo marketers who were eager to take advantage of exclusive lifetime deals.

Early traction

We are immensely grateful to all our AppSumo Viewst users who not only purchased our product but also shared valuable feedback. Their responsiveness and support played a crucial role in shaping the future of the service. While some of our users bought the product and didn't actively engage for almost a year, we were pleasantly surprised to see their return in 2022, eventually becoming regular users by 2023.

A coffee shop case study

I wanna share an inspiring success story that exemplifies the transformative journey experienced by one of our early adopters. This particular customer was initially drawn to Viewst through an AppSumo lifetime deal. They started off using the platform sporadically, but as they delved deeper and explored its expanding capabilities, they discovered its potential to revolutionize their design processes.

In the world of small and medium-sized businesses (SMBs), the need for extensive creative resources in ad campaigns is often minimal. Many SMBs rely on platforms like Google's responsive ads, where they only need to upload a few initial assets. Alternatively, they utilize user-friendly tools like Canva or Picsart for their social ads. These businesses typically don't require large volumes of creatives and have sufficient time to handle these tasks on a monthly basis. However, the inception of Viewst was driven by a different need – to cater to the content demands of big brands that rely on data-driven approaches and the creation of numerous ratios and variations.

As we focused on expanding our automation tools, we were pleasantly surprised by these smart guys from a small local agency, who found a way to leverage Viewst for small businesses as well. They discovered the power of our bulk generation from feeds feature, using it to generate a large volume of content for a local coffee shop. This content was then scheduled and uploaded to their social media accounts throughout the year. The seamless communication tools available on Viewst made it effortless for the coffee shop to make up to 10 change requests, ensuring a mutually satisfying experience. This successful partnership led to the creation of a regular offer, where one year's worth of content could be created and approved within just two days.

We discussed communication barriers between designers and a customer/media team in the article: Data driven design: bringing together creative and media

While initially designed to cater to larger brands, Viewst's automation tools proved to be a game-changer for small businesses as well. It has opened up a world of possibilities for freelancers and small agencies, enabling them to deliver high-quality visual content for social media campaigns with unparalleled speed and efficiency.

In this brief demo you can see how Viewst can help you scale your content in minutes.

Conclusion

The success story of scaling creative production I shared in this case study holds valuable lessons that can be applied to various situations. For instance, freelancers can enhance their offerings by providing more creative variations or a broader range of ratios for HTML5 banner ads. It is a proven fact that animated pixels have a higher conversion rate compared to static banners. Additionally, small businesses with limited marketing resources can consolidate their ad creative production on a single platform and repurpose it for different channels and campaigns. While tools like Canva are renowned for their versatility, they may not be as effective for creating HTML5 display ads and similar content.
